Improvements in Latest Mvix CMS Update: What’s New?
On Tuesday, July 31st, 2018, we rolled out an update for our XhibitSignage. This is our content management system (CMS). In other words, our digital signage software. We addressed some items that our customers have been asking for in our CMS updates.
2-Factor Authentication – CMS Update
We added a new layer of security with the introduction of two-factor authentication. You may have seen or used it before, probably to get into your email or bank account. It’s simple but very effective. Using a username and password together with a piece of information that only you can access makes it harder for potential hackers to gain access to your account. This CMS update makes our software safer to use.
Device Preview – Refresh on Demand
All players in the Device Library have always had a Device Preview button which shows a snapshot of the content that was playing when the player last checked-in with the software. In the new CMS update, we added a Refresh Device Preview button which instantly checks in with the CMS and shows the content currently playing. Use it to double-check that the updates you make to your schedule or content are showing on the screen.
This feature has been enabled for all active devices.
HTML Widget – Quick Start & Package Upload
This is an improvement to our existing HTML widget.
Most prefer not to build HTML content from scratch. So, we’ve added pre-built Quick Start Templates with the HTML code already loaded. Essentially, you’ll be adding fewer lines of code, and instead, you’ll simply edit or customize the HTML templates.
The second improvement is the ability to upload a zip file package or folder of HTML code, instead of copying and pasting the code into the widget.
Both HTML updates are immediately available with the Pro package of our software.
These are just a few of our newest additions this month. The full release notes can be found by clicking here.
