InfoComm 2018 is slated to be one of the biggest shows this year for AV integrators. Along with our own developments from the Mvix team, there will be plenty of new tech to see at this year’s show.
Here are a few highlights to look at for at InfoComm 2018 in Las Vegas:
One of the largest providers of digital signage players present at the InfoComm 2018 show will be BrightSign, who will be debuting their Series 4 devices. These new players are designed to support Dolby Vision and HDR10+ and deliver BrightSign’s fastest performance to-date.
Additionally, Mvix has partnered with BrightSign to provide our award-winning XhibitSignage content management software on BrightSign’s Series 3 players. This gives end users more options in selecting the exact digital signage experience that is right for them and it ultimately gives them the best the industry has to offer in hardware and software solutions.
Besides just the media players on display, InfoComm 2018 guests will be seeking out the latest and greatest developments on the software side of digital signage. DISPLAX Multitouch Technologies really knocks it out of the park with its Object REcognition technology. It merges the physical world with the digital world by detecting the drag and rotation of objects. This enables movement of the objects and contents on multitouch surfaces seamlessly. The object recognition can be integrated with the client’s multimedia applications, and since it works with projected capacitive (PCAP) technology, it is not affected by the light condition.
Mvix is also introducing a new software widget and one that clients have been clamoring for–Xhibit Spaces for Meeting Rooms. Spaces includes its own custom content management software that allows users to pick a room, pick a date and add a description of the meeting. The displays can be controlled at the screen or remotely via the cloud-based content management software. Xhibit Spaces has its own inbuilt calendar and also integrates with Google Calendar, Office 365, and Exchange. This widget is also touchscreen capable–perfect for displaying and using outside of a conference room space!
The major theme for InfoComm 2018 is “experiences.” While this may seem like a broad topic, top players at the InfoComm Center Stage are tackling it in increasingly creative ways.
One session you will not want to miss is “The Future of AR in Immersive Experiences,” hosted by Courtney Harding of Friends with Holograms and Jameson Detweiler of Fantasmo. This session will discuss how to add AR experiences to live events and will introduce new DIY tools, helpful content creation partners and new mobile applications that are making it easier to add an extra layer to your experience design. Since AR is a rapidly growing marketing tool, yet still criminally misunderstood, this talk should provide plenty of answers to your burning questions.
This year, Mvix will be providing a uniquely educational presentation featuring two of our biggest integrators: Morey’s Piers Amusement Parks and Western Michigan University. By interviewing the integrators directly on the InfoComm 2018 show floor, we will dive into implementation strategies and key performance indicators that led to successfull digital signage project outcomes.
