The YouTube feature allows you to display YouTube videos on your digital signage screen.
What You’ll Need:
- A compatible digital signage player e.g. Xhibit, BrightSign, etc.
- XhibitSignage Software with a supported feature package
- Internet Connectivity
- Access to the YouTube Content App
Using this Feature
- Hover over the “MEDIA” menu item and click on “ADD MEDIA.”
- Click on the “WEB” category and select the “YouTube” content app.
Preloaded Content
- In the YouTube app, there is a selection of popular channels, as well as different categories of channels such as News, Sports, Education, etc.
- Once you have selected a channel, you must accept the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service in order to use YouTube content.
- Preview the YouTube content to confirm the settings.
- Under “Media Information”, add a name or title and click “Save Media”.
Adding Custom Content
- To add a custom YouTube video, playlist, or channel, click on the “Custom” tab.
- Enter the YouTube URL of the individual video or playlist channel.
- Click the Audio toggle switch to mute a video.
- You may also use the Closed Caption toggle to pull any Closed Captions/Subtitles from the video.
- Click “Custom Time” to enter a start and end time for the added video.
- NOTE: Any video you would like to use subtitles on will need to have the Closed Captions created and set by the video creator.
- Click on the Closed Caption label to see more details on how to add captions to a video.
- Once you have selected a channel, you must accept the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Preview the content to confirm the settings.
- Under “Media Information”, add a name or title and click “Save Media”.
