Schedules and Playlists are two different aspects of our content management software(CMS) that work very differently. This article will describe the differences between these two.
What You’ll Need
The first thing you will need is an Xhibit Signage CMS account. Then you will need access to or an internet connect. All clients have access to schedules and playlists. If you meet the requirements listed above, simply follow the steps below to learn how to manage your account and add credits when needed.
A playlist allows the management of large groups of content by combining them under a single playlist name, which can then be added to a schedule and published very easily.
A schedule allows media content to be displayed on screens on a specific day and time of the week.
Playlists and Schedules
- Xhibit Signage uses playlists to assemble medias into a list for the player to follow. Schedules are what actually tie the content in your account to the individual player.
- Despite the similar names and structure, they are different. Playlists are considered a type of media for our players to play. Where, schedules tell the player what to display. Schedules can include playlists alongside standalone medias and templates.
